Situated at the feet of the Pyrenees, the house Coumenios is an ideal starting place for walks in the mountains of the Ariege. Numerous trails (mostly well indicated) on various levels can be undertaken. Shorter and easy walks can be made, but the more experiences walker will find his way as well. Stuning nature and calmness are the keywords in the Ariege and an encounter with Isards, marmots, vultures or maybe a brown bear is well possible.

 Its quiet roads over various cols makes the Ariege an interesting area for motorcycling. Situated at the feet of the Pyrenees, the house is a good starting point for daytrips and enjoy the astonishing views on the cols. Well known with the area we can always help you to design routes.

Nearby the house you will find the Lez with its clear water en el dorado for trout fishing. And not far away from Saint Girons situated at the Salat river the fishermen can try their luck rhere as well. A fishing license can be obtained at various places in Saint Girons.

Known from various stages in the Tour de France, the Ariege offers a large variety of possibilities for cyclists. Situated at the border of the high mountains and the more hilly little Pyrenees north of Saint Girons every cyclist can find tours at his level. A closed room to store your bicyle is available.
